Wells Fargo
It is a National Book Festival first: stagecoaches on the National Mall! Wells Fargo, new to the festival this year, will be bringing not one, but two historical stagecoaches to the Mall, offering festivalgoers the opportunity to see these moving pieces of history up close. By the Buffalo Bill stagecoach, kids and their parents can hear the story of Stagecoach Sal read aloud as they color and learn about the history of the American West at tables and chairs made of replicas of the wood and leather "treasure boxes" that once carried money and valuables across the country. Visitors to the Wells Fargo activity area will receive free giveaways, including copies of "Stagecoach Sal," coloring books, deputy pin stickers and stagecoach build-a-banks.
Near the History & Biography pavilion, visitors can take a seat and have their picture taken in the Concord stagecoach. Wells Fargo historians will be on hand to describe a collection of stagecoach-related artifacts on display, and kids and adults can try their hand at a trivia and lasso contest to win a stuffed pony. Copies of Since 1852," a book on Wells Fargo history, will be given away.
Wells Fargo is committed to making a real difference in education by maintaining an active involvement with our public education system, arguably the most important institution in our country. Wells Fargo believes financial success begins with a foundation of strong reading and math skills in early education. Through its foundation's support and volunteer efforts that focus on improving childhood reading literacy, it hopes to instill the importance these critical skills play in the long-term success of the children it meets through its volunteer programs.

Take a moment to celebrate the love of books, creativity and family togetherness with your child at the Scholastic Read Every Day Corner. "Read Every Day. Lead a Better Life" is Scholastic's global literacy campaign that underscores the importance of reading to better prepare children to survive and succeed in the 21st century. Scholastic is asking EVERYONE to work together to bring reading and deeper understanding to all children around the globe. In the corner, readers of all ages can create a Bookprint of the top five books that shaped their lives on You Are What You Read, Scholastic's online community for book lovers. And once again, Scholastic brings back the popular Build-A-Book. Using simple craft materials and a glue stick, you and your child can turn a blank book into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. This is a great family activity that's fun, easy and rewarding, and develops a love of reading that can last a lifetime.
In addition, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of The Magic School Bus, children are invited to ''hop on the bus'' and meet Ms. Frizzle herself! The bus will be parked near the Library of Congress pavilion.
