Speaker Biography:
Carmen Agra Deedy, children's book author and storyteller, was born in Havana and emigrated from Cuba to the United States with her family in 1963.  The recipient of numerous awards for her work, Deedy is the author of eight children’s books written in English, with two titles published in Spanish.  She appeared at the National Book Festival in 2007.
