Speaker Biography:
Best-selling author John Irving, who acquired a lifelong interest in writing at an early age, published his first novel at the age of 26. He is the author of 15 books, several of which have been made into films, including “The World According to Garp.”  He won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for “The Cider House Rules.”  Irving appeared in the Fiction & Fantasy pavilion at the 2005 National Book Festival.
