          Adventure stories; Christmas stories
               According to Subject Headings Manual H 1690, juvenile form headings and 
subdivisions are assigned to belles lettres for children (e.g. Children’s stories; --Juvenile fiction).  
Where juvenile form headings do not exist, unsubdivided adult headings are to be assigned 
instead (e.g. Christmas stories; Detective and mystery stories).  Headings in the form [Topic]--
Juvenile fiction should not be assigned if an adult form heading for the concept exists (e.g. do 
not assign Christmas--Juvenile fiction).  
               UF references in the form [Topic]--Juvenile fiction are being added to all headings for 
[...] stories, to help lead searchers to the proper heading.  The proposals to add the references 
to Adventure stories and Christmas stories are being provided as examples.  The other 
references will be added offlist.
