- FRSAR Working Group's activities (20 minutes)
Athena Salaba, Assistant Professor at the School of Library & Information Science at Kent State University, will discuss the activities of the Functional Requirements for Subject Authority Records (FRSAR) working group in light of the group's final draft report to be presented at IFLA's General Conference and Council in Milan in August 2009.
- Genre/Form Projects and Initiatives (10 minutes)
Janis Young, Library of Congress, Policy and Standards Division, will present an update on the genre/form projects, including a status update on current projects, as well as a timeline on future projects involving SACO partners.
- Narrower Terms in LCSH (10 minutes)
An open discussion of a project for providing narrower/broader terms for LCSH headings.
- Mandatory SACO Training (10 minutes)
An open discussion on the pros and cons of requiring training (for example, LCSH, LCC, and/or SACO-specific contribution training) for new SACO participants, including the possibility of making SACO membership individual-based.
