SUMMARY OF DECISIONS, EDITORIAL MEETING NUMBER 41

October 14, 2009

Present from PSD: P. Weiss

CLASSIFICATION

Changes were made as indicated on the approved list.

SUBJECT HEADINGS

Demonstrations

Since not all political protests take the form of demonstrations and since civil disobedience is not an element of all demonstrations, the proposed changes in the references under this heading were not approved.

Minorities (International law)

With the exception of the headings Women (International law) and Children (International law), the qualifier (International law) has not been used after classes of persons. The meeting did not wish to extend the practice beyond those two exceptional headings. The heading Minorities--Legal status, laws, etc. may be used for works on both the comparative and international legal aspects of the topic. The proposal was not approved.

Rape myths; Rape myth acceptance

There is no precedent for establishing headings of this type in connection with individual crimes. The existing headings Rape--Public opinion and Rape--Psychological aspects can be used to cover the topic. References to those headings will be made from the term Rape myths. The proposal was not approved.
