Standing Committee on Standards Annual Report 2001
FY 2001
COMPLETED
The Committee accepted the final report of the Task Group on the Implementation
of Integrating Resources. This group was formed under the auspices of SCT and
SCS was jointly chaired by John Wright, a member of SCS, and had several SCS
members on it. The group is to be commended for its work with a very complicated
subject.
The work of the 042 Task Group was also completed during this time period.
Karen Letarte completed her work on Model C and submitted a report to the PCC
Policy Committee.
IN PROGRESS
The Task Group on the Function of the Authority File has submitted its interim
report. This will be discussed briefly at ALA midwinter 2002.
The Task Group on Conference Publications was formed during the time period
covered by this report. They will be submitting an interim report by ALA midwinter
2002.
The Cartographic Materials Core Record Task Group submitted its final report.
The SCS is still deliberating over this in conjunction with the following.
The group is still working on core record reconciliation. Wording of footnotes
is being standardized and updated, discrepancies among the various cores are
being examined and eliminated whenever possible.
PERSONNEL
Susan Summer, Kathy Winzer and Colleen Hyslop rotated off the committee at
the end of September 2001. Newly appointed members are Ann Sitkin of the Harvard
Law Library and Tatiana Barr of the University of Florida.
