PCC Task Group on Assessment
Charge:
The Task Group on Assessment is charged with identifying data that would be
useful to the Policy Committee in assessing the effectiveness of the Program
in meeting the needs of libraries for cataloging records and authoritative
headings. Specifically, the Task Group should:
1) identify measures to assess the extent to which PCC records cover the range
of new materials acquired by PCC member libraries;
2) propose data needed to identify gaps in coverage of specific subjects, languages,
and formats;
3) include measures of the timeliness with which new records are available;
4) propose practicable means by which such data could be collected, with
the assistance of the bibliographic utilities and/or selected member libraries.
Timeline:
The Task Group should submit its report to the Policy Committee in time for
discussion at the November 2003 meeting. Interim
