Special Project for Subject Authority Subdivision Records
In order to enhance the indexing of some subdivision authority records on its internal system, the Library of Congress' Cataloging Policy and Support Office is currently undertaking a special project to review and update all subject authority subdivision records. Subject subdivision records are identified by 008/09 set to value 'd'. These records will not have any textual changes. MDS-Subjects subscribers should therefore expect a larger than normal volume of records in the next few issues of MDS-Subjects. There are several hundred subdivision records that will be updated.
