Cultural historian and author Peter Guralnick will speak about his latest book, a biography of Sam Phillips, a pivotal figure in the history of 20th-century American music of many stripes. Owner of the small but powerful Sun Records Label in Memphis, Phillips was a major force in kick-starting the careers of Howlin’ Wolf, Johnny Cash, Ike Turner, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley, among others.

GENERAL ADMISSION
Seating is general admission and patrons with a ticket will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis. Five minutes before the event starts any unclaimed seats will be available for patrons without a ticket. Patrons are encouraged to arrive half an hour before the event, as extra tickets may be available due to returns.
