Sir Winston Churchill to President Dwight D. Eisenhower, April 1955
Churchill must have produced this
draft for a letter to President Eisenhower on one of his
last days in 10 Downing Street, as he left office on April
5, 1955. It sets out his reasons for resigning--old
age and failing health--and ends with a firm statement of
his belief in Anglo-American brotherhood and opposition to
communism. |
