    Purcell Maurice Conway oral history interview conducted by Joseph Mosnier in Saint Augustine, Florida, 2011 September 13 Purcell Conway recalls growing up in St. Augustine, Florida, and working many odd jobs. He recalls facing discrimination, participating in demonstrations, and witnessing a riot when attempting to integrate the beach. He also discusses moving to New York City, his career as a police officer, and successfully suing the city for discrimination in promotions.
