FEDGrey - Grey Literature Working Group
Grey literature is "information produced on all levels of government, academics, business and industry in electronic and print formats not controlled by commercial publishing i.e. where publishing is not the primary activity of the producing body."
(defined by the Grey Literature Network Service, 2004)
Who We Are: A few years ago, FEDLINK was approached to assemble a "group" that would eventually morph into the US node for GreyNet International (www.greynet.org). On December 5, 2011, FEDLINK signed a Memorandum of Understanding with GreyNet, the Grey Literature Network Service and FEDLINK became an Associate member of GreyNet. In signing, both parties seek to further explore joint initiatives and collaboration opportunities serving the interests of their respective information communities.
For FEDLINK, a newly established FedGrey Working Group will fill the role of US representation of the Federal Library community within the larger GreyNet organization.
What We Do: Our FedGrey Working Group Mission Statement currently reads:
The mission of the FEDLINK FedGrey Working Group is to promote federal library and information center interest, expertise and utilization of grey literature and to advance its discussion, research and access within the federal information community.
