FLICC New Librarians ("NewFeds") Working Group
The NewFeds mission is to support the development and advancement of early career professionals by focusing on training programs and leadership capacity. Through collaborative activities with professional associations, NewFeds advocates LIS competencies, best practices, and issues relevant to federal library and information centers. NewFeds seeks to build a networked community of engaged federal information professionals.
The working group supports programs in the following areas:
- Leadership development
- Training and skill-building
- Professional networking and mentoring
- Career planning
- New librarian advocacy
- Promoting careers in federal libraries
