Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), a division of the American Chemical Society, offers the world's largest collection of chemical and related information for the scientific research community. This offering includes the most authoritative collection of substance information available, as well as current and comprehensive worldwide coverage of chemistry-related patents, journals, reactions, sequences, chemical catalogs, and related chemical listings. CAS databases cover many scientific disciplines, including biomedical science, chemistry, engineering, materials science, agricultural science and more. CAS also builds and maintains the CAS Registry(sm), the only authoritative source for substance information and CAS Registry Number(R) identifiers. Over 100 years of information is accessible, and new information is added daily. STN is operated jointly by CAS and FIZ Karlsruhe worldwide and is represented in Japan by JAICI.
