OCLC

OCLC, Online Computer Library Center, Inc.

The products and services provided by OCLC have not changed; however many of the internal processes for purchasing and approval are now the responsibility of OCLC.  All product and services support is available by direct communication with OCLC at 1-800-848-5800 or support@oclc.org.  Transfer Pay is still the primary option, but Direct Express is now available.  Members will still be required to follow federal procurement regulations so that they do not spend more than has been authorized, but OCLC will be assuming responsibility for verifying that sufficient funds have been authorized before accepting an order.

More information on the changes to the process can be found here along with a list of contacts, FAQs, and other helpful documentation.

If you have questions, please contact Holly Kerwin at hnic@loc.gov.

OCLC, Online Computer Center, Inc., is a not-for-profit computer library service and research organization providing a family of information systems to a variety of libraries and cultural institutions. The OCLC Global Council, comprised of delegates elected regionally from around the world, provides oversight and guidance to OCLC management. OCLC WorldCat provides immediate access to an extensive bibliographic database, used by libraries as the basis to perform many functions: cataloging, interlibrary loan, union listing of serial and other holdings, collection assessment, digital archiving and a register of digital masters. The OCLC FirstSearch service provides access to WorldCat through an interface supporting both end-user access and expert searching. Training and assistance in using the OCLC system are provided by OCLC.   This contract also covers services rendered by OCLC EMEA to US federal libraries in Europe. Training from other OCLC Partners is payable through other FEDLINK contracts. For further information regarding OCLC and related services, please call the below listed FEDLINK number.
