Access Innovations, Inc., provides access to NICEM, The National Information Center for Educational Media resources and has cxpanded the NICEM capabilities over time to encompass all aspects of electronic publishing.
The audiovisual database that NICEM has assembled represents the most comprehensive collection of information about educational non-print materials in existence. NICEM's database contains over 440,000 bibliographic recordes, representing 640,000 items of non-print materials that cover all subject areas, are intended for all age levels, and are disseminated in all formats of media.
Access innovations can customize the NICEM database to include the subject or topic areas you desire. Customization is available for a one time charge, and update options are available.
NICEM Knowledge domains are pre-formatted, subject specific databases/Knowledge domains. They include several subject areas, such as Agriculture, business,Education, Language Arts, social sciences and others. the NICEM Knowledge Domain consists of two parts: a Thesaurus of terms,and a Rule Base consisting of search and hierarchy rules.working together the thesaurus and rule Base narrow the user's search to provide accurate and meaningful search results.
