Blackwell has over 125 years experience as a supplier of scholarly, scientific/technical, out-of-print and similar books to research, academic, public, corporate, government and special libraries. We provide Firm Order, Approval Plan, Continuations, Cataloging and Physical Processing services for publications available in the US, UK, Europe and Australia.
Approval Plan: Blackwell offers approval plans based on subject and/or publisher. Customers can designate a preference and automatic provision of books or forms/slips only. A wide variety of management reports and bibliographic collection development tools are available as well. Approval Plan discounts: 15% off US titles; UK titles at list.
Processing: Based on a customer profile, Blackwell can provide shelf-ready processing of books. Blackwell can supply a circulation kit (pocket, date due slip, tattle tape, barcode ) spline labels, barcode labels, VINABIND binding for paperbacks, Class A binding for paperback reinforcement, and KAPCO processing for paperback coverups. Electronic MARC records are provided via FTP with Dewey and LC call numbers. Blackwell offers its Collection Manager, their online collection development and acquisitions tool.
