Inventory Locator Service, LLC
Inventory Locator Service, LLC, (ILS) manages the world's largest and most active government electronic e-marketplace (GEM) and is used to find immediate resources for the defense, aviation, and marine industries and is used when the normal supply chain breaks down and/or the lead-time is too long. Suppliers list their inventories and capabilities for access by buyers 24/7 and from around the world. ILS suppliers currently list more than 50 million line items representing 5 billion parts in stock. Buyers contact sellers directly, as ILS is not involved in the sales transaction. However, ILS provides a variety of powerful e-business tools to enable buyers and sellers to conduct business quickly and efficiently within a single tool. These capabilities include: RFP capabilities; quote tracking; parts usage statistical data; part number supply and demand evaluation tools; U.S.Government procurement data and other government files; detailed supplier profiles, including certification and contact information as well as supplier catalogs.
These services provide item managers, program managers, engineers, planners and government procurement agents with commercial off -the-shelf (COTS) solutions by quickly identifying qualified suppliers who have the items they need in stock, and/or manufacturing or repair capabilities.
