Part 1: Preservation 101

This FREE online course on the covers preservation of print, electronic and other media basics. The Library of Congress Preservation Directorate and the Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) have partnered with FLICC to present a FREE self-paced online that covers the preservation of paper collections and related formats. Complete this course between June 1 and July 31, 2009 to prepare for the August Institute and to learn at your desk how to identify deteriorated materials, properly care for collections and set priorities for preservation. FLICC and LC Preservation Directorate staff will also be on call for consultation while you are taking the course and will facilitate a live online forum in early August.
