Ambassador Book Service (ABS) offers a comprehensive range of firm order services to government, corporate, medical, college, university and other special libraries. ABS can provide both US and non-US materials in the following categories: Associations, Audiovisual, Foreign, Government, Legal, Medical, Non-English Language, and Scientific-Technical. ABS maintains an inventory of over 40,000 volumes, many of which are automatically supplied by the scientific, technical, business, university press and medical publishers with whom ABS is a recognized agent. ABS regularly places special orders with publishers for items not in stock. To facilitate the supply of imported publications, ABS maintains reciprocal agreements with booksellers in England, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Australia, and South America. Customers may place orders by mail or may communicate toll free via telephone, fax, Book Order Express, ABS E-Mail, ABS ONLINE, or PC-based ABS Book Acquisitions System. For regular firm orders, ABS seeks a one week turnaround from publishers, will claim from the publishers after 45 days, and again after 30 days. OPTIONAL SERVICES: Shelf-Ready Processing: For paperbacks, ABS can provide Lyfguard coverups or Ambassabinding and Buckram binding. Also available: PromptCat cataloging and approval plans, cataloging, card sets, mylar jackets, book card and pocket & spine labels. Automated Order Control System: Customers may dial in to the ABS Online system which prompts the user through the entire ordering process. Note: Vendor has indicated they are in compliance with ADA Section 508. Please contact the vendor representative with specific questions regarding Section 508 compliance.
