This four-segment video presents the FLICC Brown Bag Session, Taxonomy Tools, held on October 30, 2002. 

Jan Herd, Business Reference Librarian, Science, Technology & Business Division, Library of Congress, and member of the FLICC Content Management Working Group set the stage for the session with an introduction to taxonomy issues and acronyms. Kelly Abner, a consultant  in the enterprise market place, then spoke about his work with the Inktomi (formerly Quiver) Classifier on the Pepsi Health and Safety Intranet.

Segment II

The meeting continues with Alvin Walker, American Psychological Association, discusses PsycINFO's experience with Nstein Techonogies and computer-aided indexing.

Segment III

Audience members ask the first three speakers detailed questions in this energetic Q&A session.

Segment IV

Jared Freeman, of Aptima, presents his experience with the Global Wisdom's Bravo Reviewer while working with the Cognitive Task Analysis (CTA) for the Office of Naval Research.  The event concludes with an explanation with Kelly Abner about how taxonomies can be used in with a Web portal, closing remarks from Jan Herd and questions and answers from the audience.
