Collection Description (Extant): The Mount Pleasant (S.C.) Oral History Project documented various aspects of history of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and was completed by an unidentified "Historical Commission"

The collection includes; Apendix I: "History of Mount Pleasant questionnaire," and Appendix II: "Interview summary," featuring anecdotes, some unattributed, re economic conditions, leisure activities at Mount Pleasant, Isle of Palms, and elsewhere. Other topics addressed include segregation by race and/or gender in education and elsewhere, prohibition-era, medical care, sanitary matters, transportation, voting by blacks and whites, etc.; and African American policeman Edmund Jenkins.
