Collection Description (CRHP): Formerly known as the Civil Rights Documentation Project.

Collection Description (Extant): The foundation of the Oral History Department is the Ralph J. Bunche Collection. This collection contains more than 700 tapes and television transcripts documenting the 1960s Civil Rights Movement.

Between 1967 and 1973 Civil Rights Documentation Project personnel gathered this collection of materials about civil rights activities and organizations. The Congress of African People, Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, Poor People's Campaign, Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, and the Southern Conference Educational Fund are well-documented. As well as numerous notable civil rights activists from around the country.
