Collection Description (CRHP): This collection consists of oral histories that Maryville College students did of local people for the class The History of the United States in the 20th Century. Although most interviews do not deal with civil rights or race relations, seven oral histories address these topics. These interviews describe people's perceptions of race relations and the Civil Rights Movement in East Tennessee; the individuals interviewed were not heavily involved in protest activities themselves.
