Collection Description (CRHP): This collection consists of interviews with close associates of Martin Luther King Jr., including SCLC staff, childhood friends, associates such as his barber, bodyguard/driver, and babysitter, family friends, classmates, former professors, his children, and members of his churches.

The collection also contains a videotape of an oral history conference held at Michigan State University in November 1973 with the following individuals: Bernita Bennette, Christine Farris, Robert Green, Coretta King, Stanley Levison, Rufus Lewis, Dora McDonald, Rosa Parks, Louise Tapps, Harry Wachtel, Andrew Young, and others unnamed in the collection inventory.
