University Archives oral history collection

Repository: College of William and Mary. Special Collections Research Center

Collection Description (Extant): The University Archives Oral History Collection consists of transcripts and recordings of oral history interviews conducted as a part of various projects at the College of William and Mary with administrators, faculty, students, and alumni. The specific projects include the College's oral history program from the 1970s, an oral history program sponsored by the University Archives beginning in the 2000s, 'Stony the Road We Trod,' and the Stephens Project. Whenever possible, interview transcripts, audio, and/or video are available online. See item records and the links to digital content (most often in the W&M Digital Archive) for details . . . .

'Stony the Road We Trod' was an independent study project conducted by College of William and Mary student Jenay Jackson (class of 2005) in 2005. This oral history project was intended to serve as the initial part of an ongoing project to document African American history at the College of William and Mary. Ms. Jackson interviewed College administrators, faculty, and alumni.
