Repository description (CRHP): Dr. James F. Findlay is professor emeritus of history at the University of Rhode Island. He has 60 mini-cassettes of oral histories done for his book, "Church People in the Struggle: the National Council of Churches and the Black Freedom Movement, 1950-1970" (New York: Oxford University Press, 1993). Dr. Findlay conducted an extensive oral history of Bernard LaFayette. He also was involved with the Centennial Oral History Program at the University of Rhode Island.
