Repository description (CRHP): The museum has conducted two major civil rights oral history projects in preparation for exhibits about Chester I. Lewis and the Dockum Drugstore sit-ins. Copies of tapes and transcripts for these projects have been deposited at a number of research institutions across the nation.

Repository description (extant): The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum's mission is to educate the community and its visitors about local history by collecting, preserving, and interpreting materials reflecting the heritage of Wichita and Sedgwick County, Kansas.
