Repository description (CRHP): The library houses an oral history collection that includes many interviews with African Americans who migrated to the city.

Repository description (extant): The Port Washington Public Library has been serving the community since 1892 when it was housed in a local family's front parlor. Today we are a modern service-oriented institution - rated a 5 Star Library in December of 2009 by Library Journal.
