Repository description (CRHP): The Margaret Walker Alexander Research Center houses several oral history collections that relevant to the CRHP including; the Veterans of the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement Project, the Good Old Days Project, the Farish Street Historic District Project, the Clinton Project, the Blacks in Education in Jackson, Mississippi Project, the Black Churches in Jackson During Integration Project, and the Behind the Veil Project.
Repository description (extant): The Margaret Walker Alexander National Research Center for the Study of the 20th Century African American is an archive and museum of African-American history and culture. The center houses significant records like the papers of the late Margaret Walker Alexander; those of the former U.S. Secretary of Education, Roderick Paige; and a large oral history department that includes the official collection of the Veterans of the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement. It also offers museum and exhibit spaces that highlight the Center's collections and the history of Jackson State University.
