-  Evelio Andux, age 37, of Cuban descent (father of French descent), born in Key West, Florida, describes and sings an old work song that is sung on the farms of Cuba. He says it is a Cuban farmer song, sung while digging in the dirt.
-  Ybor City, now a neighborhood within Tampa, was settled in 1886 by Cuban cigar manufacturers under the leadership of Vicente Martínez de Ybor. The cigar companies moved from Key West to avoid unionization of their workers.
-  The sound quality of this recording is extremely poor. It has been included online because the melody line can still be identified.
-  Performance Note: "Canto Juajiro" (vocals with maracas) performed by Evelio Andux, maracas at Ybor City, Florida, on August 24, 1939.
