Notes

  • -  The following information was supplied by the quiltmaker:
  • -  Quilt size: 60" x 84"
  • -  Other techniques used include: "3-D flowers."
  • -  Quiltmaker's motivation: for "non-profit independent school"
  • -  "Most of our classes make quilts each year to sell at an annual auction. If possible, the quilts follow the overall theme of the auction. The theme this particular year was 'Wild in the Garden.'" They have been making quilts at this school for "about 12 years."
  • -  What was your primary reason for entering the Lands' End contest? Do you frequently enter your quilts in competition? "Quiltmaking helps each class form strong community bonds. Parents, teachers, and children all work together -- learning more about one another, working together, teaching and learning and laughing."
  • -  Has being a winner in the Land's End contest made a difference in your life? Has it changed the way you look at your work as a quilt maker? "Our school was proud to receive recognition."
