Iraq: Religious Edict (Fatwa) Against American/Iraqi Security Agreement

(Oct. 24, 2008) In response to a request sent to him by some members of the Iraqi Parliament, a Shiite cleric in Lebanon, Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, recently issued a religious edict (fatwa) requiring any agreement with the United States to provide for immediate troop withdrawal from Iraq.
