The Name Authority Cooperative (NACO) Program, part of the Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC), permits institutions to contribute to the LC/NACO Name Authority File of the Library of Congress. The Arabic Funnel is a component of NACO through which Arabic name authority records are contributed.
Two sessions are given: Session I will cover the background and requirements to join the program, and will be of particular interest to library administrators; Session II will be an applied workshop in the fundamentals for establishing Modern Arabic names. Familiarity with MARC21 and background in AACR2 is preferred for Session II.
