A Window on American Art
Symposium Focuses on J&R Lamb Studios

Previous | Next

A stained-glass window.

Styles from the Lamb Studios range from the traditional to the modern. This design for one of a series of windows for Guardian Angel’s Church in Detroit, Mich., between 1950 and 1975, dispenses with a physical depiction of Christ’s mother Mary in favor of an illustration of various symbols depticting her titles. Lamb no. 261 (detail), Lamb Design Collection, Prints and Photographs Division.
