December 2008 will mark another milestone for Library exhibitions with the opening of a second phase of the new Library of Congress Experience. It will feature additional interactive technology designed to engage visitors (and online users) with materials on display.

Also in December, “Here to Stay: The Legacy of George and Ira Gershwin” will reopen with new audiovisual components.

The Library will celebrate the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln’s birth with the Feb. 12, 2009 opening of “With Malice Toward None: The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Exhibition,” which runs through May 9, 2009. This display, drawn from the rich collections of Lincoln material at the Library, will also travel to five venues across the United States.

In the summer of 2009, the Library will mount a major exhibition drawn from its Herbert L. Block Collection to honor the centenary of the political cartoonist’s birth.
