"Scrolls from the Dead Sea: The Ancient Library of Qumran and Modern Scholarship," opens April 29 in the Library's Madison Building.
The exhibition will be open to the public 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, through August 1.
Large crowds are expected. Advance tickets are available and required. A limited number of same-day tickets will be distributed free, one-half hour before the opening, at the Independence Avenue entrance to the Madison Building, which is at First and Independence Ave. SE.
The Library itself charges no fees for any of its exhibitions. However, advance tickets are available through TicketMaster. These can be obtained for a convenience charge of $2.50 per ticket at all Hecht's department stores in the Washington-Baltimore area.

The Independence Avenue entrance to the building is barrier-free and the exhibition is accessible for persons with disabilities.
There is an optional audio tour of the exhibition, for $2.50, and may be reserved through TicketMaster when arranging for advance tickets. The audio tour may also be rented at the Library, if available.
A free coat check will be available; visitors should not enter with large personal belongings. No photographs will be allowed of the exhibition objects.
School groups should contact the Office of Educational Programs at (202) 707-3302 to make arrangements. The office will train teachers to take their classes through the exhibition.
