Alphabetical list of magazine titles
Library index
This factsheet lists magazines produced by network libraries or volunteer groups and distributed by the libraries. It is compiled from information submitted by regional and subregional libraries that is updated annually and distributed only to network libraries for reference purposes. The list is based on a January 2002 survey. It supplements the NLS publication Magazines in Special Media.
The list is arranged alphabetically by title. It includes Elder Update, Florida History and the Arts, and Kiplinger's Retirement Report, which are produced in braille and on cassette by the Florida Regional Library, and Home Court, produced in braille and on cassette by the Utah regional library. Each entry gives frequency of issue, name of producing or distributing library or libraries, and an indication of the contents. Following the alphabetical listing by title is the library index, a listing of titles by library.
An asterisk (*) next to a title means that this magazine has been accepted for national distribution through the NLS Quality Assurance Program for Network Recorded Magazines (QAP) at the Multistate Center East (MSCE). If a title that has an asterisk is produced by more than one library, consult the library index to identify the QAP edition. For QAP titles, network libraries can request four-track intermasters for in-house duplication of multiple cassette copies (using established tape quotas) from their multistate centers. To arrange for interlibrary loan of titles shown without the asterisk, contact the producing or distributing library directly.
