Bringing Knowledge Into Life
Beginning in the spring of 2008, visitors to Washington, DC will be able to experience Library of Congress, the world's greatest repository of knowledge and creativity, as never before. For the first time, millions of visitors will walk through an underground passageway connecting the United States Capitol and the Library's Thomas Jefferson Building. The Jefferson Building, with its breathtaking interior spaces, has been a symbol of national pride and accomplishment since 1897. An entirely new visitor experience will make this treasure house and its unmatched contents newly accessible through a seamless integration of content, design, and technology that breaks new ground.
The Library is currently seeking support from the private sector to help create, for people around the nation and the world, an unparalleled journey into our national memory and the world's greatest multimedia encyclopedia.
