Many people enjoyed working with the Alice Kandell Collection of Sikkim photographs in 2010-2011 as they organized, housed, described, and digitized the images, then prepared the framework pages for the online presentation. A very special aspect of this project was the opportunity to meet Dr. Kandell and learn about the collection directly from the photographer and her experiences in Sikkim.
With thanks to Prints & Photographs Division cataloging specialists Arden Alexander and Mary Mundy who not only described and indexed the LOTs but guided this large project day-to-day, working with two summer Junior Fellows Greta Kuriger and Katie James and then academic intern Isabel Klein. Other key participants included photography curator Carol Johnson; digital conversion coordinator Phil Michel; reference librarians Jeff Bridgers and Kristi Finefield and reference section head Barbara Natanson; and P&P Chief Helena Zinkham.
