\t\t\nAbout 15,000 historical prints (ca. 1700-1900) in the Popular Graphic Art (PGA) series created to document geographic\nlocations or popular subjects and sometimes used for advertising and educational\npurposes. Most are by American printmakers (e.g., Baillie, Currier & Ives, \nSachse & Co.), but publishers in many other countries are also represented\n(e.g., Antonio Vanegas Arroyo). Subjects vary widely, from city and harbor\nviews, street scenes, and manufacturing plants to genre scenes, historical \nevents, religious iconography and portraits.\n

Also represented as they are individually cataloged and digitized are popular graphic art items (ca. 1860-1980) in the Popular and Applied Graphic Art (PAGA 7) series, that include popular prints and applied graphic art items such as multi-page calendars.

Most of the items in both PGA and PAGA 7 series were received through copyright deposit.
