Hanss [i.e. Hanns] Eisler leaves U.S. Hanss [sic] Eisler, composer and brother of Gerhart Eisler, alleged no. 1 Communist in the U.S., speaks with his wife, Anna Louise, at LaGuardia Field, before their departure from the U.S., March 26th. A deportation order against Eisler, a native of Germany and citizen of Austria, was issued last month after he admitted membership in the German Communist party prior to his arrival in the U.S. in 1940. The order was stayed, however, to permit him to leave the country voluntarily.
