February 9 - “Love Poems for Valentine’s Day” - Poetry at Noon, noon-1 p.m., Whittall Pavilion, Jefferson Building.
A diamond-ring winner, two fine poets, and a romantic movie highlight the Poetry at Noon "Love Poems" program. Kate Harding who won the national Bright Star love letter contest and poets Heddy Reid and Margaret Mackinnon will read from noon-1p.m. The reading will be followed by a showing of the movie Bright Star, courtesy of Sony Pictures. The movie is the story of poet John Keats and the love of his life, Fanny Brawne. Events are free and tickets are not required. The reading will take place in the Whittall Pavilion, Thomas Jefferson Building, 101 Independence Ave., SE, Washington, DC 20540. The film will be shown in the Madison Building.

March 23 – "Poems About Washington, DC" written in the past 60 years will be read from noon-1 p.m. as part of the Poetry at Noon series, Whittall Pavilion, Jefferson Building.

April 1 – Poetry Extravaganza on Community College Campuses. Poet Laureate Kay Ryan participates in videoconference with selected community colleges. The public is invited to watch via streaming video.
