This item meets Preservation Directorate specifications for a long-lasting and durable product, appropriate for protecting LC collections, 2-5% alkaline reserve in all paper products.
Thickness:
- 3 mil for sizes 20" x 24" or smaller
- 4 mil for sizes 22" x 28" or smaller
- 5 mil for larger sizes

NOTE: P&P Division uses these enclosures for storing photographs that are sturdy enough to be carefully slid in and out of this type enclosure; most often photographs mounted on boards. These would then be stored vertically on their long sides within file cabinet drawers or within Document Storage Boxes (#300-311). (Contact prints, made from original negatives, are stored in Top Loaders in notebooks which makes them readily available for reader access.)
