The Federal Library and Information Center Committee (FLICC) formed a disaster preparedness working group called Safety Net. This group assists federal libraries and information centers in preparing for disasters by supporting and promoting cooperation. This group has developed a Charter for Mutual Disaster Assistance [PDF file: 376 KB / 1 pg.]. The Preservation Directorate works closely with FLICC by offering educational programs and providing information resources for disaster recovery. Safety Net is one of the components of the Directorate's "Preservation—Future Directions Symposia."
