It was very nice of you to have sent me that note of sympathy. The death of one's mother - even at an advanced age and after a full and useful life - is an étape in one's own existence. It leaves one feeling older and lonelier. Of course you would understand that.
I hope the summer was good for you - and that the week at Mt. Holyoke - the musical part of it - was all you expected. Who came?
My own summer didn't begin until August - so I am still in the midst of it. Tepoztlàn is something you would like - utter tranquility. I'm not planning to come back till the end of Oct.
I'm working hard on a long piece. And you? Please write again.
