Notice to Patrons:
Effective September 21, 2009, the Duplication Services Public Counter hours will be 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Photocopying is available in most, but not all, reading rooms, and there may be restrictions. If you know in advance which reading room you will be using, check their individual home page for more information.

In general:

  • You must purchase a card from a vending machine with a $1 bill. The price of the copy cards is sixty cents ($0.60). As a result, you will receive a card with a value of $0.40 initially. You may then add value to the card up to $22.00 with any denomination of bill.
  • Photocopies are $.20 a page, except copies on the microfilm reader-printers, which are $.25 per page.
  • If you require a receipt for photocopying, you must obtain your photocopying card from the Duplication Services Walk-Up Counter (Room 128, Adams Building), Monday - Friday (except Federal holidays), from 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. (9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. effective September 21, 2009).
