Human Resources

Entrepreneurs who look forward to being their own boss may quickly find that they have become someone else's boss. Hiring some help (such as clerical, accounting, or secretarial employees, manual labor for heavy work, or skilled technicians for special jobs) may entail unfamiliar responsibilities for the small-business owner who now has to provide benefits, to be in compliance with state and federal regulations, and to develop incentives to attract and hold valuable employees. References in the following section will help new employers find the answers to vexing personnel questions.
