Lessons Learned: Law and Military Operations in Central America: Hurrican Mitch Relief Efforts

1998-1999

The first interagency After Action Report produced by the Center for Law and Military Operations (CLAMO), this publication is the result of a conference held at The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center & School (TJAGLC&S), Charlottesville, Virginia, April 23–24, 1999. Based on presentations given, insights offered, and material provided during the after action report, this book was contributed to by judge advocates, legal offices, and other agencies involved in the relief effort. It reflects the experiences of those judge advocates and representatives of many federal and non-governmental agencies who participated in the hurricane disaster relief efforts in Central America. It is intended to provide judge advocates with a starting point for foreign disaster support operations.
